Notable comics for the week: May 23

Just in case you'll be swinging by your favorite comic shop today (Thursday) here's some of my recommended comics that you can pick up:

Darkhorse has a pretty good outing this week:

Amazing Screw-On Head:
A one shot by Mike Mignola, creator of Hellboy, this series looks great - favorite ko talaga si Mignola!



Lone Wolf and Cub 2100
Part homage, and partly a re-imagining of the original Lone Wolf and Cub manga, this special project is being done in association with MegaHouse (the authorized licensors of Lone Wolf and Cub), and under the watchful eye of Kazuo Koike, the writer and co-creator of Lone Wolf and Cub.  The artist (Fransisco Ruiz Velasquez) style looks like art by Joe Madureira.



Also:
Wolverine/Hulk# 4 - the conclusion to the weird tale done by Sam Kieth (really great with nice art - pero weird talaga yung story)

Powers# 20

Reinardian, galing ng ginawa mo ha! Ok ito, sana weekly natin magawa... I'll also put in my 2 cents worth every week.

This week, I just bought Origin #6 only. Sabi ng iba bitin yung ending pero para sakin, ayos lang. Hindi naman kasi dapat magtuloy-tuloy yung story hanggang sa tumanda na si Logan e.

Schwabe, parang may nakita akong TPB na Infinity Gauntlet kaso hindi ko alam kung sa filbars or comic quest or kung saang branch. sorry

I just picked up Amazing Screw-On Head (ang ganda talaga - no regrets getting it) and Wolverine/Hulk (just to complete my mini-series, great art), yung Origin - hintayin ko na lang sa TPB, I did'nt catch the first issue, and I don't want to pay exorbitant prices just to get it because I prefer the TPB format - mas madaling basahin kasi kumpleto, easier to store.

Schwabe - I think I also saw that Infinity Gauntlet TPB - nasa Filbars iyon, ewan ko lang kung sa Filbars sa Robinson Ortigas or Glorietta.

Rei, merong scheduled release next week ang hard cover ng Origin.... alam ko $35 ang price nito e so roughly 1600 pesos, mas mura ito kaysa kung bibilhin mo yung individual issues, hardbound pa!

Ey thanks for the tip! I might pick that up next week and hopefully mas mura siya sa Singapore (hehehe punta ako doon sa May 28) - otherwise, baka i-pick up ko na lang siya sa TPB format na softcover - tipid din ako ng konti ngayon eh... I'll be moving to an apartment, kaya disposing some of the stuff na di ko na kailangan + house renovation, pambili din ng furnitures yung excess when buying the HC as opposed to the Softcover.

well if you're buying the hardcover, be sure to check with filbars kung oorder nga sila. baka kasi hindi sila mag-order dahil baka maisip nila na walang bibili.

pwede ka naman magpa-order sa kanila kung gusto mo talaga.

nakabili na rin ako dati ng comics sa isang hobby shop sa singapore (along orchard lane yata yon). ingat dre! sign-off na ko ngayon, uwian na e.
