Check this out www.mycomicshop.com/info/grading.cfmWhat do u guys think? Maybe we should have a standard in order to avoid misrepresentations in our comic ads. I've had a bad experience before... Met with a seller in Antipolo to buy a hard to find item. he posted the item as being in near mint condition. turns out hindi pala... was so very disappointed. So far di pa naman ako nadidisappoint sa mga sellers from bidshot. keep it up! 8)

Man, I'm feeling half guilty because I'm from Antipolo - and wala akong ibang kakilala na auctioneers ng comics na taga-Antipolo except for my brother who posts his items at www.ebili.comI think the only other place where I posted my comics are at www.eauctions.comand my username is BigKahuna... if ever I dealt with you... I'm really sorry that the item is not what you expected. I rarely post my items in near mint or mint conditions - because, ang dami na nila and comic shops (except comic oddysey) don't provide plastic and backing boards anymore. Well, onto grading... mahirap ding mag-grade ng comics, a lot of sites have different ways of grading their comics, pero the most popular is the one popularized by Wizard Magazine. A lot of topics were not covered by the link you gave - like yellow pockmarks that appear in the paper... and the rule of bumps and dents. Mahirap ding mag-maintain ng comics, most of my old Marvel comics (X-force), though sealed in non-acidic plastic and backing board still showed aging (yung nga yung yellow pockmarks). I have sold a lot of comic lots (dirt cheap) here and so far, ok naman sa buyers because I'm honest with the condition of the items - some of the comics included in the lot are in very fine condition and some of them are good (see reinardian reviews). Mahirap din when you encounter a collector na talagang mabusisi, Cool Republic is one of those guys, he's got the eye for comics and he's pretty good at grading his stuff - I've bought some comics from him and when he says NM - it really is. I've also sold him some stuff (like spyboy, sandman, jay and silent bob) back in our eauction days, and so far, ok naman. For me: NM - maybe read once, very carefully, then placed right away in plastic, never to be touched. VF - placed in plastic, some bumps and dents in cover na very minor, pages are still crispy white. F - placed in plastic, still looks new, pero upon close inspection, may minor flaws (really minimal pocking, folds on page) VG-G - read condition, not abused, still cared for, although it's not brand spanking new like you see in comicshops. F - usually my really old Marvels... Each individual grades differently... I've also shared your experience with other auction sites, bought some few stuffs for my collection - not what I really expected, but still happy because I got that issue I'm looking for... By the way, I never met anyone within the Antipolo vicinity, I always come to them or go to QC/Makati/Ortigas/ and Manila nowadays) Hell... I still feel guilty... ako lang kasi kilala ko na nag-aauction sa Antipolo.

hey no need to feel guilty bro... im sure it wasnt u or anyone u know for that matter. just shared a bad experience and opened the topic to avoid these kinds of things from happening. besides, the guy doesnt live in antipolo, he's there for a seminar if i remember correctly, so we agreed to meet there. I've also dealt with coolrepublic, he's a nice guy... very accomodating. Bought great items from him just last week. A bit expensive but really worth it! He even gave me 2 bonus comics coz i bid high on his items... cool huh? Also bought from nahkz, which i would say was a STEAL! (thanks again nahkz!) Anyway, great to see this site rollin. Ingatz bro!

Hi guys! For my part, this link is the basis of how I grade the comics that I sell : comicspriceguide.com/p-conditions.asp
Pati yung current value ng comics, eto rin ang basis ko. Pero syempre, minsan mas mahal ang benta ko sa comics kumpara sa Guide Value, depende kung gaano kahalaga sa kin yung comic at kung hard to find, etc.
Sa lahat ng magagaling mag-grade, stay true to the path! Iwasan natin manloko gaya ng iba dyan, para lang tumaas kunyari yung value.
Si schwabe_man pa lang ang nakaka-deal ko sa inyong dalawa. I'm looking forward to deal with you too, reinardian. Stay cool dudes!

I don't think it's more of "panloloko"... i'm sure matitinong kausap naman mga tao dito eh. Its more of being accurate and being at armslength so there will be no confusion. By the way, thanks Marc for the great deal!

No problem dude. Hope to transact with you again next time!
Thanks!
