Clarification about the different kinds of RAM and what is compatible with which Motherboard:
(a friend asked me a question about this last night, thought some others might find it useful, specially those buying RAM or Motherboards)
EDO RAM * This is the old 72 pin RAM that is placed in the WHITE colored slot
SDRAM = DIMM RAM (comes in PC66, PC100, PC133, and PC150) * Motherboards are usually backwards compatible meaning if your board supports PC150, it will support all the lower speeds * But a PC100 mobo will NOT support PC133 and PC150 (Note: the memory may work but only at PC100 speed)
RDRAM = RAMBUS * also sometimes known as PC800 RAM * usually motherboards that support RDRAM is not compatible with other types of RAM
DDR RAM (Double Data Rate) * so far this comes in two speeds: DDR266 = PC2100 DDR333 = PC2700 (Different names, same item) * Again if your motherboard supports the faster speed it will also support the slower one (but NOT vice versa) * Many Motherboard models support both SDRAM and DDR RAM
*** SO TAKE NOTE WHEN BUYING OR UPGRADING YOUR SYSTEM ***
Hope this info was useful to you ;D

Hi Jeanny, There are many things to consider that attributes to these problem, usually the solution to these are your keen observations before the problem were encountered. Factors affecting these are the following a) Softwares (incompatible programs or conflict to OS) b) Virus d) Loose Adapter Cards, memory e) Overheat f) and lastly one of your peripheral component is broken. If you are not sure, backtrack the last thing that you have done to your computer before the incident happened. Try formatting/reinstalling windows pag ayaw pa rin there might be a problem in your peripheral cards or baka loose lang connection. Always think that the last problem of any computer is the hardware. 90% is always software. 2% hardware, the rest just a human error. Regards, Joey ;D

jeanny,
joey is right.
the most likely problem you have is software. THE BEST SOLUTION generally pag madalas na mag HANG is to REINSTALL WINDOWS. That way malinis lahat...
I suggest you find one of your friends who knows how to do this to help you out. kung wala, i'm sure a lot of "knowledgeable" people here can help you out.
JUST ASK

Jeanny,
mayi suggest that before you reformat your pc, check first if there are any loose connections inside.
such effort is needed before you reformat your pc.
malay mo, loose lang pala isa mong card or something... it will save you time and the effort in the task that you are about to undertake.
Note that you should only open your computer if you are knowledgable in the hardware system of your PC.
If not, it is better that you ask help from this forum for some technical help.
Maraming matulungin na tao dito na hindi mo na kailangan pang magbayad ng technical fee. (Bili ka lang muna ng item niya ;D )
But since someone already suggested that your video card is the problem, might as well get a second opinion diba?!
